HW- Do your research and/or write the blog with your findings.  Draw conclusions about the 'needs' of your interview/research subjects.  What motivates their clothing purchases?  What do they know/understand about the issue?  What might affect their future purchases?

Wednesday 5/15
  • Gather needs, identify insights & craft 'how might we' statement.

HW- Read to page 196 in The Fountain at the Center of the World.
 

Thursday 5/16
  • Discuss Chano's speech to the conference.
  • View Yes Men WTO video
  • Project final decision & planning
HW-  Either, read to page 227 in Fountain, OR work on aspect of project assigned.  This hw will be adjusted as needed.  See the project planning tab and get to work!

  • Research for blog post- find, read, and record at least two good websites.
HW- Continue research and start a blogpost draft that shares your information and your ideas.   

Wednesday 5/8
  • Start designing final project
HW- Read to page 165 in The Fountain at the Center of the World.
 

Thursday 5/9
  • Continue designing project
  • Discuss reading
HW- Read to page 174 in The Fountain at the Center of the World. *** Note, I've cut 206 pages here.  There will be a quiz on Monday.   

You also need to start researching AND writing for the empathy phase of our project, which is to impact the way SPA buys clothing. This could include:

*fb polls, survey monkey surveys, interviews of students/parents, 
*interviews of SPA community folks (Brownie, Monty, captains, or coaches).
*interviews of suppliers like the company that operates the spirit store or reps    for American Apparel, or other gear companies through SPA or other organizations.
 *doing research @ school with hypothetical purchases
*researching other schools (maybe independent schools) about their purchases policies and writing case studies
* researching costs of ethical vs 'other' clothing choices.

I WANT CLEAR, WRITTEN EVIDENCE OF PROGRESS ON MONDAY INCLUDING EITHER DRAFT SURVEYS OR INTERVIEW QUESTIONS, OR EMAILS REQUESTING MEETING TIMES, OR LINKS TO SOURCES OF INFORMATION.  This is a real deadline.  



Week 13

  • Discuss the week schedule, speaker & finals for seniors/juniors
  • Turn in essay
  • Read Fountain blog posts
Read to pages 3-29 in The Fountain at the Center of the World.  Bring a quote for the board.

Tuesday 4/30
  • Discuss reading-  plot, characters & themes.  What makes this novel engaging?  What overlap do you see with other novels?
Read to page 59 in Fountain

Wednesday 5/1
  • Reading day-
Keep reading!!!!!  no quiz tomorrow


Thusday 5/2
  •  Senior exam presentation- 7th period.  Go to class if you can't make it then.
Read to page 115 in Fountain & bring a passage to read and discuss.  Bring two discussion questions based on this passage- one should be open ended.
